This is AWESOME! Really catchy and put together really well. I love the way that tap riff sounds. Lol, i would have never thought you wrote this after hearing your other uploads. But i really like it, great work, man.
I'm not sure what pop punk is. is it like ADTR and Asking Alexandria (I call it mainstream metal). Either way it's pretty cool. Love that break where the riff gets faster. It's just I think you can do better with this. That one riff over and over with little variance, i know you can do one or two better. Vary it up from time to time. It'll keep it fresh.
ROX, look man, i understand that you're a teacher or whatever, but that doesn't mean you always have to tell these people what you think they need to change in their songs. this is pop punk, it's supposed to be simple like that. i'm not trying to talk shit or anything, but i feel like you think you know a lot more than you do.
oh, and i know those other guys specifically asked for help, so that's totally cool, but i wrote these songs to sound a certain way, and that's how they're supposed to be.
I have to agree with hydraulacost on this one, ROX. I can definitely appreciate what you're doing for those other guys, but personally, I don't think hydraulacost's writing needs much help if any. Those djent style songs are absolutely amazing. I'd kill to be able to write like that.
hydralocaust... i just have to say, u are the best song writer on this site... everything u make is AMAZINGLY melodic.. any tips to write like u?
ok i can understand that. thanks for being civil about it.
i guess i don't really have any real advice other than keep tabbing. i've logged in countless hours messing with time signatures and note values trying to get one section to sound right. for 90% of these songs, i write the entire tab before i even try learning it on guitar. more than anything, i try to stay away from generic chords and patterns, it's a lot harder to make it sound good, but turns out much better in the end.
